What is private duty nursing?
Private duty nursing provides skilled pediatric nursing care in the home environment. Our nurses are trained to manage complex medical needs, administer medications, and coordinate with your child's physicians to ensure continuity of care.
How do I start the process?
To begin, we invite you to contact us to discuss your child's specific medical requirements. We will conduct a clinical review, coordinate with your physician, and help you navigate insurance authorization and benefits.
What conditions do you support?
We provide specialized nursing support for children with complex medical needs, including respiratory support, feeding tube management, seizure disorders, and neuromuscular conditions. Our nurses are trained to handle technology dependence and post-hospitalization needs.
How is care coordinated?
We work closely with your pediatric specialists and discharge planners to create a comprehensive care plan. This ensures that all nursing tasks are performed safely and that your child receives consistent, family-centered support.
What are the service areas?
Horizon Pediatric Home Care serves families throughout Northern Utah, including Ogden, Layton, Clearfield, Roy, Logan, Bountiful, and surrounding communities. We are committed to providing compassionate care wherever your family is located.
What is school nursing?
School nursing is when the nurse accompanies the child to school every day. School districts determine if the student qualifies for 1:1 nursing support. This begins in preschool at 3 years old and continues through high school. The nurse comes to the home before school starts and accompanies the student to school on the bus or in the parent’s car. They stay with the child the entire school day, assisting with their medical needs, and accompany the student home at the end of the day. Horizon Pediatric Home Care is currently contracted with Alpine, Canyon, and Provo School Districts.
What insurance companies do we work with?
We accept all Utah Medicaid plans (SelectHealth, Molina, Healthy U, Health Choice, and traditional Medicaid) and work with many private insurances like UnitedHealthCare, SelectHealth, and Cigna. Our dedicated intake team will handle the verification and authorization process for your family to ensure you receive the maximum benefits available for your child's care.
